Dr. George S. Schow BSc DDs ~
I was born and raised in southern Alberta and received my dental degree at the University of Alberta. After practicing general dentistry for 30 years, I took the opportunity to go back to school to receive specialty training in endodontics (root canals). *I am a general dentist and my practice is limited to Root Canal Therapy.
Being fluent in Spanish and seeking an adventure, I chose the School of Endodontics, at the University of Chile, in Santiago. Beginning in March 2008, I left private practice and for the next two years, became a full time student. I studied under the Endodontic Director of the University of Chile, Dr Sergio Acosta, a brilliant clinician and researcher, as well as a published, international lecturer.
My clinical research paper for graduation investigated the clinical efficiency in conventional endodontic retreatment of three prominent rotary file retreatment systems. I graduated at the top of my class in clinical expertise and case completion. At the conclusion of this post-graduate program, I was awarded a Certificate of Endodontics with Distinction for clinical excellence.
Spending two years in the dynamic, leading nation of Chile, was a great life experience!
